WHAT DOES A MEMBERSHIP COME WITH?

We are always striving to improve our service to members, and offer a FREE year of membership to new businesses or businesses that have never been a member previously. This is a great way to access all the Chamber member benefits!

Benefits of a Chamber Membership
Joining the Parkland Chamber of Commerce is a strategic investment for your business. A research study done by the Schapiro Group demonstrates the value of joining your local chamber:

  • When a consumer knows a small business is a Chamber member, they are 63% more likely to purchase products or services from it. Consumers infer that Chamber members are more trustworthy, they care more about their customers, are more involved in the community, and they are considered an industry leader.
  • 59% of consumers think joining the local chamber is an effective business strategy.

The Parkland Chamber offers many ways to get the word out about your business. As a business member, your information will be placed in our Member Directory offering searchable visibility online. Our value added member section of the website helps promote your business, through specials, your own events, job postings, and your own web page to showcase your business, and much more. As a member of the Chamber, you and your employees can enjoy many benefits: group insurance and other discounts programs, networking opportunities, referrals, advocacy at municipal, provincial, and federal levels of government.

LOBBYING ON BEHALF OF THE MEMBERSHIP

The Chamber’s primary role is advocacy. It represents its members on issues affecting businesses and the community. Have a say when it comes to issues that govern your business’s ability to grow and prosper.

We work closely with the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce. Their lobbying mandate is set by its resolutions, which are sponsored and then voted on by local chambers at the Annual General Meeting. These resolutions are primarily made up of submissions from local chambers across the province.

The MCC’s resolutions are as varied as the challenges facing Manitoba. Typically, resolutions touch upon issues relating to Transportation, Infrastructure, Tax Reform, Education, Agriculture, Industry, Aboriginal and Northern Affairs, Labor, Trade, Immigration and the vitality of our communities.

Our Chamber is also closely working with a network of other Chambers from across the southwestern corner of Manitoba. This regional cooperation of Chambers will help develop policy for the MB Chamber and aid the membership in our area with a stronger unified voice.
